Receiver Arnaz Battle is going to be difficult to remove from the starting lineup. He is Mr. Consistency. He went up to make a good grab between the coverage of cornerback Nate Clements and safety Michael Lewis.

Battle on Quinn
•April 11, 2007 • 3 Comments“Even back then, when he came to work out with us before his freshman year at ND, you could see the physical tools, the arm strength that might be able to take him places,” said Battle, a former Notre Dame quarterback set to embark on his fifth season as an NFL wide receiver.”I think he’ll do very well in the NFL. It’s a different game on this level. A lot has to do with the situation you’re put into and the system you’re running, but the talent is there. Once he gets his confidence rolling — and confidence is such a big thing in the league — the sky’s the limit for him.”

Battle Finishes with Career Highs
•January 2, 2007 • 7 CommentsBattle finished the 2006 campaign with his best season yet, and perhaps the most reliable and consistent 49ers receiver on the roster. Battle’s final numbers on the season were 59 catches for 686 yards and 3 touchdowns. Battle also had 36 first downs.
One interesting stat you will not see on many stat sheets is that 49ers quarterback Alex Smith had a QB rating of over 100 when throwing the ball to Arnaz Battle.
Battle Moves into #1 Role.
•December 22, 2006 • 4 CommentsThe NFL handed 49ers receiver a four game suspension as a result of Bryant’s arrest last month on suspicion of drunk driving. Overcoming Battle Scars
•December 15, 2006 • Leave a CommentArnaz Battle grew up with distant football dreams, like scrambling in the shadows of “Touchdown Jesus” at the University of Notre Dame and prowling the field with his favorite NFL team, the San Francisco 49ers.
“It worked pretty good, huh?,” Battle said in front of his locker here at the Superdome, where he caught four passes for his beloved 49ers in a recent loss to New Orleans.
The Byrd High School product left Shreveport in 1998 to take perhaps the highest-profile gig in the college football world – Notre Dame’s quarterback.
